Datacolor to Preview first-of-its-kind Color Calibration System for Microscopy

Datacolor ChromaCal™ standardizes color to deliver consistent, reliable and comparable digital microscope images

Lawrenceville, NJ – December 10, 2013 – Datacolor®, a global leader in color management solutions, today announced ChromaCal™, a first-of-its-kind color calibration system for microscopy. The system will be previewed at the upcoming American Society for Cell Biology meeting, December 14-17 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Color in science is critical for evaluation, comparison, communications and decision making; therefore, establishing and maintaining the integrity of color throughout the image capture and communication cycle is essential.

“Assuring color consistency for microscopy images is becoming increasingly important as more and more scientists share their work globally,” said Albert Busch, President and CEO for Datacolor. “We worked with industry experts to develop an integrated, easy to use solution to establish a benchmark for digital color communication for microscopy imaging.”

Datacolor ChromaCal standardizes color in digital images produced through optical microscopes to ensure consistent and reliable color reproduction. This integrated system includes proprietary software to calibrate images, an innovative color calibration slide to ensure a consistent color baseline, as well as a calibration sensor that establishes color consistency among monitors.

Datacolor ChromaCal is scheduled to be available for sale starting first quarter of 2014.  For more information on Datacolor ChromaCal, please visit www.datacolor.com/chromacal.
